A makeover for an apartment in Vigo, Spain

Soon to receive their second child and with a recent move from the south of Spain, this family contacted our design studio to give their apartment a makeover. We tell you about the project.

They had only recently moved into this exterior apartment with a view, and they wanted to create a familiar and cozy atmosphere in anticipation of the arrival of the new member of the family. When they contacted our design studio, they had already selected the sofa and rug at a local store, and the client had a very specific idea of the style she wanted: something modern and in a range of neutral colors.

The room before

The first thing we did was change the furniture and select some more in line with the project: except for the sofa, a work of art and two lamps that our clients wanted to keep. It was also decided to change the rug, which had colors between yellows and blues that did not harmonize with the new decoration, as well as being too small. Given the property was in excellent condition, it was not necessary to carry out a reform.

Mood Board of the living room project

The dominant colors were grays, creams and whites, with metallic touches of silver and gold; and the outstanding materials steel and glass.

Dining room

For the dining room we selected a table with a glass top and stainless steel legs, as well as chairs upholstered in white leather. As a centerpiece, two cut glass candlesticks and a vase with a silver edge; to highlight the wall, an abstract work of art with a silver frame that was incorporated later, and a lamp also in stainless steel and glass. All in a modern and minimalist style.

The concrete lamp on table in arabesque style

In the living room, the gray sofa was implemented with a Mid-Century Barcelona model armchair, as well as a coffee table also with a glass top and a wooden and stainless steel base. An arabesque-style side table on which rests a gray concrete lamp, and glass and metal accessories, and a large glass cup with natural orchids.

Over the sofa we decided to place a large mirror with interlocking circular designs, which resembles a sculpture. In the corner next to the armchair hanging on the wall, a work of art, a gift from our client's sister-in-law, and two large silver metal lanterns on the floor to hold candles.

Entryway

The new natural wood mirror

The hall also needed some attention; now a beautiful rustic wood mirror in a silver tone together with a teak console and stainless steel base preside over the entrance, welcoming guests.

Since we started the project, the development and installation took us approximately 15 days. Just in time for our clients' new baby showers and family reunions.
